Thanks to mild seasonal temperatures, you'll enjoy year-round outdoor activities at places like Burns Park, one of the nations largest municipal parks, with close to 1,600 acres of lighted ball fields, hiking trails, fishing, and a 36-hole championship golf course. Recreational Opportunities abound at North Little Rock's Burns Park as well as Sports Activities along with a unique Urban Equestrian Trail, Scenic River Trail, Emerald Park Mountain Bike, and Multi Use Trails.

Auditions for JACK AND THE BEANSTALK

Auditions for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of “JACK and the BEANSTALK” will be held on August 11, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Sherman Park Community Center (624 Beech Street). There are roles for students entering 1st grade through 12th grade. Approximately 50-60 local students will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Director. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Students wishing to audition must arrive by 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 30 minutes after the audition.

North Little Rock Parks & Recreation department is offering FREE meals, to kids under the age of 18 at participating NLR Recreation Centers & NLR Boys & Girls club Monday-Friday beginning   June 9-August 8.

 

Daycare facilities, churches, and community organizations are welcome to bring their kids to participating sites for breakfast and lunch. Kids are not required to be enrolled in summer camp in order to receive a free meal.

 

This federally funded program was developed to provide nutritious meals to children during the summer.

 

 Sites include:  North Heights Community Center, Glenview Community Center, Sherman Park Community Center, North Little Rock Boys and Girls Club, Hamilton Boys and Girls Club, and Rose City Boys and Girls Club.
