Holiday Lights in Burns Park

When: December 2010 - 6-10 p.m.

Where: Burns Park

What: Mile long display of holiday lights in the park.

Who: Anyone

Cost: $5 per car; $10 per 15-passenger van or larger; $20 per motor coach.

Holiday Lights Festival

When: December 11, 2010

Where: Burns Park Softball Complex (at the Entrance to the Holiday Lights display)

What: Games, Activities, photo with Santa opportunity (bring your camera), marshmallow roasting, and more

Who: Anyone

Cost: FREE

Dashin' Thru the Lights

When: December 11, 2010 (5:00 - 6:00 pm)

Where: Burns Park Softball Complex (at the Entrance to the Holiday Lights display)

What: Fun dash/walk/stroll through the Holiday Lights

Who: Anyone (including your pets)

Cost: $5 per person / $10 per family (first 50 participants will receive a commemorative holiday ornament)

PUNT, PASS & KICK (National Football League)

When: September 9, 2010 at Sherman Park Community Center

When: September 16, 2010 at Glenview Community Center

When: September 23, 2010 at North Heights Community Center

What: The NFL Pepsi PUNT, PASS & KICK program is a national skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 8 -15 to compete separately against their peers.

Who: Youth ages 6-15

Pitch, Hit & Run (Major League Baseball & Pepsi)

When: April 2011

What: Each person will compete in each of three areas (pitching, hitting, and running).
There are four levels of competition: Locals, Sectionals, Team Championships, and National Finals.
Awards for Locals will be given to All-Around Champion, All-Around Runner-Up, All-Around Third Place, Pitching Champion, Hitting Champion, and Running Champion.  The All-Around Champion, Pitching Champion, Hitting Champion, and Running Champion will advance to the Sectional Competition.

Who: This competition is free and open to youth ages 7-14. Boys and girls will compete together in four age groups (8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14).

Easter Egg Hunt at Burns Park

When: ???, 2011 (9-11am)

Where: Burns Park (Pavilion #10)

What: NLRPR's Annual Easter Egg Hunt with thousands of eggs.  Youth will 'hunt' eggs in groups according to age.  Drawings will be held throughout the event for door prizes.  Coloring areas, photos with the Easter Bunny (bring your camera), and more

Who: Youth ages 1-9

Hershey's Track & Field Games

When: May ???, 2011 (???)

Where: North Little Rock High School West Campus Track

What: Hershey's Track & Field Program was created over 30 years ago to promote youth physical fitness and provide fun learning experiences for children. 
Children compete in up to three events.  Events include 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 meter runs, 400 meter relays, long jump, and softball throw.
Winners of the local games will be eligible to compete in the state games (held in central Arkansas).

Who: Youth ages 9-14
