The Recreation Advisory Committee (RAC) works with the North Little Rock Parks and Recreation – Recreation Division which provides recreation services for the city, to develop a variety of recreational programs, and to advise the Recreation Superintendent and Parks and Recreation Commission on a number of different recreation issues. These meetings are open to the public. GOAL: To provide meaningful public input into Parks and Recreation Department and Parks and Recreation Commission’s decision making process affecting parks, recreation facilities, leisure programs and services and to act as an information sharing body for its membership and the general public. MEMBERSHIP: The Committee shall consist of fourteen members who shall reside within the City limits of the City of North Little Rock. Members will include two (2) Youth (under 18 years old) representatives (1 – Grades 5 to 8 and 1 – Grades 9 to 12), two (2) Sherman Park Community Center representative, two (2) North Heights Community Center representative, two (2) Glenview Community Center representative, two (2) North Little Rock Community Center representative, two (2) At Large Member, and two (2) North Little Rock Parks and Recreation Commission Member. Members will be appointed by the North Little Rock Parks and Recreation Commission. TERM OF OFFICE: Two year. Members may be appointed to serve not more than two (2) consecutive full two-year terms. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Advisory Committee shall serve in an advisory capacity only to make recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Department and Commission on recreation projects, programs, or activities.
